The problem
Post-2023 the world saw a new AI tool every day, but Mandarin users had no curated entry point. Product Hunt is English-first; Twitter is fragmented. I wanted a 'open once a day, done' Mandarin landing for AI tools.
What I built
A content-first web app, static where possible, SEO-first by default. Daily picks, four-category index, leaderboard, tool detail pages. Every page server-rendered with full sitemap; designed day-one for Search Console / GA4 / Google Ads. Also my proof-of-concept for end-to-end AI-assisted rapid prototyping: from schema to SEO to Tailwind to deploy, AI was the co-pilot.
Technical decisions
- Next.js App Router:RSC + automatic sitemap + metadata API map perfectly to a content SEO site.
- GA4 from day one:Don't wait for traffic. Day-one tracking is what lets you see organic-vs-ads breakdown on your very first post.
- Mandarin-first SEO keywords:Skip the English red ocean. Aim straight at Taiwanese + HK Mandarin queries.
